A good friend once told me: ‘Your poems will bring tears into people’s eyes’. It turned out they do. Good tears, happy tears, healing tears.
Around the age of 18 I made up a 'game'. I opened a dictionary or a book, closed my eyes, pointed to 10 words randomly and wrote a poem out of those 10 words. I did this in several languages.
Time went on, I kept writing throughout happiness and sorrow, then life happened and I stopped. Many years passed. Then I met some people who brought me back to the path of writing. It was a life changing and realigning experience. I realized that I can also write for people I have never seen or met, and my poems can heal, bring joy, help people celebrate great life events, or process and better understand their own feelings.
I wrote to a friend’s daughter to help her process a car accident. To a lady who lost her mother but couldn’t let her go yet. For weddings. For child birth. For birthdays. For lovers. For breakups, goodbyes. For new beginnings. For people in difficult situations. For funerals. For long- Covid patients. For the sick and the healthy. For musicians, artists, jewelers, singers, writers, photographers. For family, friends and people all over the world. For any occasion or just because.
